June 16th – Magical Recommendations… What fantasy books do you recommend that revolve around magic?

A Darker Shade of Magic by: V.E. Schwab

I am two books into this series and I love it so far. The idea of different London’s is amazing. Kell and Lila are some of my favorite characters. I also can’t wait to finish the series with A Conjuring of Light.

The Heir Chronicles by Cinda Williams Chima

A sort of underrated series its a magical world set within a modern setting, I am about the read the third book and I am loving it so far.

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

One of my favorite books I have read this year. I also love the magical world it is set in. Safi is one of my favorite female characters, and even the supporting cast is really good.

Falling Kingdoms by: Morgan Rhodes

While many are very split about the Falling Kingdoms series, I actually kinda like. While it may come across as Game of Thrones lite it does however get better as the books go along.

The Young Elites series by: Marie Lu

By one of my favorite authors, it deals with a young girl journey into villainy. The magic is sort of seen as a mutation and those with it would be arrested. While the final book was just okay, it is still a great trilogy.

Those are my magical recommendations. Do you have any magical recommendations? Let me know in the comments below.

Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Underated books

Happy Wednesday everyone, and here is another Top 5 Wednesday and the topic is:
January 25th: Favorite Underrated Books
–Give some love to those books that aren’t as widely talked about. Those hidden gems. Those books that maybe used to be popular but people have forgotten about and they still deserve some love.

Top 5 Wednesday is a group in Goodreads and was formerly created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey and is now done by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. It is open to everyone.

Serpentine by Cindy Pon

One of my favorite books of last year. I love the use of Chinese mythology and while it does have a small following I kinda wish more people would read this series, and the authors other work.

Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld

I know a lot of people that have read this series, but it is not as big as Hunger Games or Divergent when it comes to dystopias. I plan on rereading the series for a revisited review sometime soon.

The Heir Chronicles by Cinda Williams Chima

Another underrated series. Sort of like a Harry Potter meets Mortal Instruments. I read the first two books and I really like the series. I always like modern fantasy novels, and this series is no exception.

Stop me if you heard this one before by David Yoo

I read this a couple of summers ago and I really enjoyed it. It was a nice contemporary dealing with summer love and than the reality of when the school year starts. I would highly recommend it for Perks fan.

The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter

I think the series was little popular when it came out and I know I talk about the series a few times on my blog but after rereading the first two over the summer I realized how much I really liked this series and not a lot of people really know much about it. I also plan on doing a series revisited for this series later this year.

Those are my favorite underrated books. What are your favorite underrated books? Let me know in the comments below.

Hype or Like Friday: Favorite Fantasy Novels

Happy Friday all,

Hype or Like Friday is a meme created by Jillian, Larkin, and Britt to discuss about hyped books and see if they’re hyped up or not. There would be book of the month that you can read, and the post your review for it on the end of the month, then rate it whether it’s a hype it or like it.

For this weeks Hype or Like Friday, it is favorite fantasy novels. I love fantasy novels, especially ones that transports you to a different world where you would love to live in.

Here are my favorites:

A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin

I got into the series after watching the first season of Game of Thrones, and since I was very impatient and couldn’t wait a year for the second season, I decided to start reading the book, and loved the series.

The Heir Chronicles by Cinda Willaims Chima

This is a series I recently got into after many recommendations from friends and fellow bloggers. I like that it is still set in the modern world and still does a good job on handling the fantasy elements. I love the all the characters, and it reminds me a lot of Percy Jackson meets Harry Potter.

The Young Elites by Marie Lu

I was originally was a fan of her Legend series and I was surprised that her follow up series is a a fantasy series, since Legend was a a dystopian. I instantly loved the first book and I currently reading the Rose Society and love what I am reading. Adelina is one of my favorite characters despite all what she has done. She is a great anti-hero, and I love how Marie Lu is creating a persons descent into villainy.

Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

The one that started it all. I know its redundant but the Harry Potter series is amazing, and got me into reading. I love everything about this series. At 11 years old I wanted to go to Hogwarts, that’s how much I love the series.

Those are my favorites. Let me know what yours are.
