Matilda by Roald Dahl

This is my favorite Roald Dahl book. I do have love for the BFG, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But this one is near and dear to my heart. This was one of the first books of Roald Dahl books I have ever read.

American Girl books

I know, this was meant for girls, but my sister had the books and I decided to read them and they were really good. I started of with Addy, the story of girl born into slavery and then becoming free. Molly, a girl living through WWII, and Felicity a girl living through the Revolutionary War. I like how all of them takes you through history from the perceptive of young girls.

The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew

Some of my favorite mystery books, and it got me started on the mystery genre. While they are two separate series, there is times when they do crossovers with each other. Mainly it is about young kids solving mysteries, and it is very enjoyable,

The Berenstain Bears

Another one of the very first books I have read. It has a family of bears and it deals with a lot of life lessons such as; messy rooms, lying, and junk food.

Arthur

While I am more nostalgic for the TV show, I still did read the books and I have fond memories of the book, and it dealt with a lot childhood issues about growing up.

Those are my favorite children. What are your favorite children’s book? Let me know in the comments below.

Hype or Like Friday-All’s Fair in War and Magic: A Magical Duel

Happy Friday everyone,

Here is another Hype or Like Friday, the theme for June is All’s Fair in War and Magic

And the Book of the Month is:

Hype or Like Friday is a meme created by Jillian, Larkin, and Britt to discuss about hyped books and see if they’re hyped up or not. There would be book of the month that you can read, and the post your review for it on the end of the month, then rate it whether it’s a hype it or like it.

June 2nd – A Magical Duel… Choose some of your favorite fictional characters to magically duel one another. Who would win?! example – Harry Potter vs. Voldemort

Eleven from Stranger Things vs. Lara from Logan

While its not magical, part of me really wants to see these two characters fight it out. While Logan does have claws, Eleven can kill people with her mind

Winner: Eleven

Carrie from Carrie vs. Matilda from Matilda

Both have powers of telekinesis, that were both brought up by parental neglect. But Carrie literally killed everyone at her prom

Winner: Carrie

Caelena from Throne of Glass vs. Inej from Six or Crows

Both are highly skilled, while Caelena is a highly skilled assassin, Inej can sneak around anything, and when Inej makes a hit you will never see it coming.

Winner: Inej

Those are some of the characters I would love to see duel each other. Which characters do you want to see in a duel? Let me know in the comments below,

Gilmore Girls Book Tag

With the upcoming revival coming back and also the fact that the UP channel is playing an every Gilmore Girls ever marathon, why not do a tag of one of my favorite shows Gilmore Girls. And yes I am a Gilmore Guy. I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but I thought it would be fun to do. This tag was created by punksandpaperbooks.

Lorelai-A character with a witty or sarcastic sense of humor

Tyrion Lanniseter from A Song of Ice and Fire. As a former hand to King Joffrey, we always knew what to say in the toughest of times, and he always had a good wit about him.

Rory – Your favorite classic

Matilda by Roald Dahl. It was one of the first chapter books I read, and it is of course my favorite classic because I can relate a lot to the character of Matilda and her love for reading.

Luke – A book you secretly love, but are afraid to admit.

I pick Gossip Girl, while most would think of the show, and I know it would be a cliche for me to say this but, the book is better. I was in high school/college when the book came out, and it would be weird as a guy to say that I openly love Gossip Girl, but I do.

Lane – A musical character

I pick August from This Savage Song. He carries around his guitar not just because he loves music but it is also his weapon and how he uses his powers.

Dean- Your first book love (character or book you first loved!)

Hermione Granger, what can I say. I like my ladies smart and bookish.

Sooki – A book you’ve devoured

Champion by Marie Lu, it took an entire bus ride from Boston to Washington DC to read the book from start to finished and I loved it.

Jess- A book you love, that gets the most hate.

Despite what people may think of the story, I actually like the series a lot. I love the characters and how they interacted with each other. The movies, were pretty bad and didn’t follow the book.

Miss Patty – A book that was ruined by the hype

I was told that this was a Harry Potter meets Buffy, and when I finished the book I just felt a very “meh” feeling towards it. But this was a book I felt was way over hyped. I am currently reading Lady Midnight and I like what I am reading so far.

Emily Gilmore – expensive book

While the other Song of Ice and Fire books I bought were paperback, this is the only hard cover and boy it was very expensive compared to the other books.

Paris – An uptight character

Radu, from And I Darken, he was very whiny in the book and very uptight, hopefully like Paris he loosens up in future books.

That is my Gilmore Girls Book Tag. Can’t wait for Gilmore Girls to come out on Friday, in which I will be binge watching.

If you are reading this consider yourself tagged.
