Top 5 Wednesday: Other SFF Medias

Happy Wednesday everyone, and here is another Top 5 Wednesday, and the topic is:

March 21: Favorite Science Fiction & Fantasy in Other Media – Booktube SFF Awards Babbles Crossover Topic!
— This month’s babbles crossover topic involves our favorite SFF outside of books (like movies, tv shows, games, anime, etc.)

Top 5 Wednesday is a group in Goodreads and was formerly created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey and is now done by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. It is open to everyone.

The Mass Effect trilogy

I got into this series rather late but I do love it. Since it is a Bioware game, most of the game is built around the choices you make. This was also one of my first forays into RPGs. It is full of great characters, which you could romance in each game. Mass Effect 2 is my favorite of the trilogy. especially with the Suicide mission at the end.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Another video game. This is set sort of in the distant future, in which the world has been taken over by machines. The story is amazing, which starts Aloy, an outcast trying to find her place in this world, and learning about what happened before the fall. This also has a very vast open world to it. This is a game that definitely lives up to the hype.

Pushing Daisies

This is my Firefly. I don’t know if it actually counts as SFF, but since it stars someone who could bring people back to life, I think it counts. Ned, is a pie maker who can bring people back to life, but only for a minute or else someone in the vicinity will die. He works with a private eye to solve murders. He also brings back a long lost love from the dead, but also realizes that he can never touch her. This is a very good show that was canceled way before its time.

Lost

I know, this is a very controversial choice, but I can’t help it I really like this show. While it did start off as a show about people stranded after their plane crashes on an island, but there is a whole lot of mystery that came with it. I know not every single mystery was ever solved, but is was the characters that kept me coming back.

Battlestar Galactica

I also got into this show very late, but I really enjoy this show. It deals heavily with a lot of good sociopolitical issues, while also dealing with a Cylon invasion. Its not as much of a Sci Fi show, as it is more of a political thriller.

Those are some of my favorite SFF in other medias. Do you have any SFF media that you like? Let me know in the comments below.
